After putting up some impressive stats in Week 6, Nick Foles struggled badly against the Cowboys in Week 7. He also suffered a concussion so having him back for this coming week seems like a stretch. Fortunately for the Eagles it appears Michael Vick will be able to start.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports Vick will start Week 8's game against the Giants. Les Bowen of the Daily News also reports that Vick will tell reporters he's good to go -- and therefore announce that he's starting -- on Tuesday.

Vick's missed the last two games as a result of having a hamstring injury. His absence was particularly notable Sunday. Foles was horrible in his start, averaging 2.76 yards per attempt and completed just 37 percent of his 29 throws (woof).

Matt Barkley entered the game when Foles was injured and promptly threw three picks in the span of what felt like 30 seconds.

With the Giants reeling and on a short week -- you can say what you want about beating the Vikings on Monday night, but that wasn't pretty -- the Eagles can ill afford to lose this game by having to start Barkley.

It's not shocking that Vick would be willing to play despite his hamstring not being 100 percent. But it remains to be seen just how effective he'll be under those circumstances.

Vick originally injured his hamstring against the Giants this season, leaving Philly's 36-21 win after completing just six of 14 passes for 105 yards in Week 5.
