As we told you earlier Tuesday, free-agent quarterback Pat White was expected to sign with the Redskins, and late Tuesday night, USA Today is reporting that the two sides have agreed to a deal.

With White meeting with the team Tuesday night, he’s expected to sign his contract Wednesday.

As CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora wrote earlier Tuesday, “White has the potential to get meaningful snaps in the offseason and during exhibition games,” because Robert Griffin III won’t be ready to return immediately with the devastating knee injury he suffered in the Redskins playoff loss last season.

White originally worked out for the 49ers last week, and he was scheduled to meet with the Giants this week before backing out of that visit on Tuesday.

For his career, he’s played in 13 games and rushed 21 times for 81 yards. White has thrown five career passes. He’s completed none of them.
