Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde and WR Corey Brown earned more than a few Buckeye stickers for their performances in a 63-38 win over then-No. 21 Nebraska last week.
The duo was the highlight of the Big Ten weekly awards as Hyde was co-offensive player of the week and Brown was special teams player of the week for their roles in the drubbing of the Cornhuskers. Hyde became the first Buckeye since 1995 to score four touchdowns in a game as he added 140 yards on 28 carries. Brown earned his recognition for returning a third-quarter punt 76 yards for a touchdown as he finished with 112 all-purpose yards.
It was the first weekly honor for the players.
Michigan QB Denard Robinson was named Big Ten co-offensive player of the week for rushing for 235 yards and completing 8 of 16 passes for 105 yards with a touchdown in a 44-13 win over Purdue.
Robinson, who became the league's all-time quarterback leading rusher in the victory with 3,905 yards, also tied former Wisconsin RB Ron Dayne with nine all-time Big Ten offensive player of the week awards.
Penn State LB Gerald Hodges claimed his third career Big Ten defensive player of the week nod for helping the Nittany Lions rally from a double-digit third-quarter deficit to upset then-No. 24 Northwestern, 39-28.
Hodges finished with 11 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, to go with two passes defended and a forced fumble.
Meantime, Michigan State WR Aaron Burbridge set personal bests with eight catches for 134 yards in a 31-27 comeback over Indiana. The freshman was making his first career start against the Hoosiers and entered the game with a mere two catches for 14 yards.
Burbridge is the first true freshman in school history to post a 100-yard receiving game.
