Grilli struck out one in a clean eighth inning Monday against the Padres to notch his seventh hold as the Jays' setup man.
Grilli also earned a pair of holds in Atlanta earlier this season, giving him nine total on the year. The move north of the border has suited the veteran right-hander well. He's earned at least a win or a hold in 10 of his 19 appearances for Toronto. The 39-year-old has cemented himself into one of the more valuable eighth-inning jobs in MLB and owns a career-best ERA and WHIP since becoming a Jay.
