Dietrich opted out of his contract with the Yankees' minor-league system Saturday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

The 31-year-old, who hit just .215 with five homers and 22 RBI in 107 Triple-A at-bats this season, will become a free agent. Dietrich is a few years removed from his most recent season of competence at the big-league level, so it remains to be seen whether he'll draw interest from any other organization.
