McBroom was recalled by the Royals on Tuesday.
McBroom has appeared in just five big-league games this season, all of which came back in April. His latest stint on the big-league roster may turn out to be a brief one, as both Danny Duffy (forearm) and Brady Singer (shoulder) landed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The Royals don't need to replace that pair with more starting pitchers right away, but they'll need to within a few days, and it's possible McBroom is the one to make way.
