On Friday in Toronto, the Indians prevailed 2-1 over the Blue Jays in a sprawling 19-inning contest (box score). Most notably, the win marked Cleveland's 14th consecutive victory, which sets the franchise record. The Indians previously won 13 in row in 1942 and then 1951. No team has won 14 in a row since the 2013 Braves, and it hasn't happened in the AL since 2002 Athletics did so as a part of their record 20-game win streak.

With the win, the Indians are now 19 games over .500, playing .620 ball, and on pace for 100 wins. In related matters, the SportsLine Projection Model coming into Friday has the Tribe a 97.6 percent chance of winning the AL Central this season. Nudge that up a bit more after Friday's at-marathon-length game against the Jays.

Oh, and there's also this:

Lo and also behold: Everything's coming up Cleveland! On that note:

As for Friday's compelling game of baseball, please admire the the ebb and flow of this particular win probability chart (which tracks each team's of winning a given game throughout said game):

Needless to say, that's a to-and-fro affair right there. Some other #AmazingFacts from this one ...

  • At six hours, 13 minutes ,this was the longest game of 2016 thus far.
  • In terms of innings, this one's tied for the longest game in Blue Jays' franchise history. They also played a 19-inning game against the Tigers in August of 2014.
  • The Indians haven't played a longer game since Aug. 31, 1993, when they went 22 innings against the Twins.
  • The two teams combined to use 19 pitchers and leave 34 runners on base.
  • The Cleveland bullpen worked 13 scoreless innings. Trevor Bauer kept the Jays off the board for five of those frames. Bauer had been scheduled to start for the Tribe on Saturday, but that's obviously not going to happen now.
  • As for the Jays bullpen, they allowed one run in 12 1/3 innings of work. Two position players -- Ryan Goins and Darwin Barney -- wound up pitching for Toronto.
  • Speaking of Goins, the dude has a breaking ball (and he also induced an inning-ending double play) ...
  • And speaking of Barney, he allowed the eventual game-winning homer to Carlos Santana ...
  • During the course of baseball events, three Jays were ejected: manager John Gibbons along with Russell Martin and Edwin Encarnacion.
  • Pity Michael Saunders, who went 0 for 7 on the day.
  • Jason Kipnis went a not-much-better 1 for 7. However, that lone hit -- a third-inning RBI single that obviously proved to be quite important -- extended his hitting streak to 13 games, which ties with Corey Seager of the Dodgers for the longest current streak.
  • Oh, the Jays and Indians on Friday combined to throw 606 pitches. That's ... a lot.
  • The Jays this season are now 3-6 in extras and 8-14 in one-run games.

These same two teams tomorrow!
