That escalated quickly.

On the latest Eye on Football Podcast, we talk about all that went right for the Seahawks in the 2014 season opener, and all that went wrong for the Packers. Somehow, Seattle looks better than the team that destroyed the Broncos in the Super Bowl. Green Bay, meanwhile, looks like it has the makings of a very good team that just got thoroughly outclassed on this particular night.

The good news is that it's early; the Packers remain favorites in the NFC North. The bad news is that the offensive line and the complete absence of linebackers could be a problem as the season unfolds. We talk about all this, too.

Then, after spending a few minutes discussing the 1982 Atlanta Braves (seriously) -- complete with an impromptu Dale Murphy retrospective -- we turn our attention to Sunday's slate of Week 1 games.

Thank you, baby Jesus, football's back.
