Some Cardinals links to get your day started:

The Cardinals have begun talks with talented inside linebacker Daryl Washington on a contract extension, XTRASports910.com's Mike Jurecki reported. Washington is under contract for two more years, cap numbers for the next two seasons 2012- $908,000 and 2013 $993,000.

The battle for the starting right tackle position between veteran Jeremy Bridges and rookie Bobby Massie is not your typical competition. Both want to play, but Bridges’ life experiences have led him to take a kinder, gentler approach to his young apprentice, the Arizona Republic’s Bob McManaman reported.

Levi Brown could have fled the state of Arizona after the Cardinals released him this offseason. Maybe he should have, given the rampant criticism he has shouldered since being drafted ahead of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in 2007. But Brown has always had a strong sense of self and a deep well of resolve, so he’s getting his ‘fresh start’ in Arizona in my story on foxsportsarizona.com.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt thought his players were further along. Then they got to last weekend’s Red White Practice and “they didn’t react very well.” Darren Urban of azcardinals.com has that and other notes.

Running back Ryan Williams has faced a long, grueling road of rehab after tearing his patellar tendon in a preseason game last year against the Packers. But, as Brad Evans of Yahoo! Sports detailed, Williams comeback is nearly complete as he wows the crowds at Arizona’s training camp in Flagstaff.

The Cardinals have a glut of receivers vying for time opposite Larry Fitzgerald. Andre Roberts and Early Doucet are the incumbents, Michael Floyd is the first-round draft pick, but there are a number of other players impressing the coaching staff in camp, arizonasports.com’s Michael Carungi reported.
