There were rumors that Terrelle Pryor, the Browns wide receiver who came into the league as a quarterback, would take some snaps under center against the Dolphins on Sunday. And that's exactly what happened -- partly by design, partly because the officials let what should have been a dead play (Dolphins pass rusher Cameron Wake was offsides) turn into Cameron Wake destroying rookie quarterback Cody Kessler.

Kessler promptly made his way to the sidelines to get checked out by the Browns' medical staff, recently signed backup Charlie Whitehurst was seen warming up, and in the interim, Pryor lined up at quarterback. On the first play, he ran right for a first down. On the second play, he ran left for a touchdown:

The Browns trailed 24-21 after the score.

Pryor started nine games for the Raiders in 2013, but he completed just 57 percent of his passes and threw seven touchdowns against 11 interceptions. He was traded to the Seahawks after the '13 season, but was released in August 2014. And after brief stops in Kansas City and Cincinnati, he finally landed with the Browns in June 2015. The team converted him into a wide receiver, and we've seen glimpses of his big-play potential.

But with Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown sidelined with shoulder injuries, and Kessler forced into the lineup as a result, Pryor was expected to see some time under center on Sunday.

Here are a few incredible stats from Pryor's day:
