Fien was traded to the Phillies on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Fien was designated for assignment twice before being traded by the Mariners. He allowed 10 runs across just six major-league innings this season. The trade allows Fien to join the Phillies without being added to their 40-man roster, so he'll head straight to Triple-A where he'll likely serve as organizational depth.
