The 49ers are finally talking about Colin Kaepernick but rumors continue to swirl, including a report over the weekend about interest from other teams.

Specifically the Browns and Texans, who, according to NFL Network have shown interest in trading for the embattled Niners quarterback, even as the 49ers hold out hope Kaepernick is their quarterback of the future.

There is a significant juxtaposition between what the 49ers are saying publicly and the rumors circulating out of San Francisco.

Chip Kelly didn't say much about Kaepernick when he was hired, but has since spoken about the quarterback in a positive fashion. GM Trent Baalke "absolutely" expects Kaepernick to return.

Add owner Jed York to the list of power figures positively discussing Kaepernick -- York told Mark Purdy of the San Jose Mercury-News he had a "good conversation" with Kaepernick the last time the two talked.

“All I can tell you is that the last conversation I had with Kap was a good conversation,” York said. “I asked how he was feeling. I hope he’s doing well. I care about his health and well-being because I think he can be a big piece of what we’re doing, going forward.”

So you have those statements. then on the other side of things, you've got lots and lots of rumors coming out of San Francisco. Not long after Kelly spoke about Kaepernick, a report emerged about Kaepernick asking permission to seek a trade.

Maybe he was just offended by Kelly's comments about hand size?

We've already heard rumors about different landing spots (like the Jets). Might as well add Houston and Cleveland to the mix.

Suffice to say the drama surrounding the 49ers and Kaepernick is far from over.
