That's a wrap

  • Bayern Munich 0, Copenhagen 0
  • Real Madrid 4, Napoli, 2
  • Real Sociedad 0, RB Salzburg 0
  • Braga 1, Union Berlin1
  • Arsenal 6, Lens 0
  • Benfica 3, Inter 3

A dramatic day in the Champions League comes to a close with three games that saw five-plus goals, including Arsenal's 6-0 win that sent them through to the next round. Not a bad way to close out Matchday 5.

One more for Madrid

Joselu ensures his side clinches top spot in their group with a stoppage time goal that Bellingham has the assist on. Napoli will fail to qualify for the round of 16 tonight, which keeps Braga alive ahead of their matchup against the Italian champions on Matchday 6.

Real Madrid take the lead!

Paz maneuvers around Napoli's defense and takes a skilled shot from distance and though it appears Meret has the save, the ball slips through his hands and ends up in the back of the net. It's Paz's first Real Madrid goal and gives his side a 3-2 lead.

Six for Arsenal!

Arsenal add to Lens' misery after winning a penalty, which Jorginho converts for his first goal for the Gunners. Arsenal have had six different goalscorers today, and are very much assured of a spot in the last 16 at this point.

Red for Benfica!

As if there wasn't enough going on in this game, A. Silva has been sent off for a harsh challenge on Barella.

Benfica 3-3 Inter

Incredible turnaround in Lisbon! Alexis Sanchez from the penalty spot to wipe out Benfica's three-goal advantage created by Joao Mario's first half hat trick.

Benfica 3-2 Inter

Suddenly, the hosts do not look comfortable at all. Davide Frattesi with Inter's second to tighten the deficit to just one. Game on!

Benfica 3-1 Inter

Maybe, just maybe? The Italians pulls one back through Marko Arnautovic's scruffy goal. Can they find two more in Lisbon?

Braga 1-1 Union

We have an equalizer in Portugal too with Alvaro Djalo pulling Braga back on terms with a powerful finish to send Union Berlin back to the bottom of Group C.

Real 2-2 Napoli

All square at Santiago Bernabeu! Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa with a fierce leveler for the Italians early in the second half.

Second half action

We are getting back underway across Europe with plenty more action to come!

Half time scores

Bayern Munich 0-0 Copenhagen

Arsenal 5-0 Lens

Real Madrid 2-1 Napoli

Braga 0-1 Union Berlin

Benfica 3-0 Inter

Sociedad 0-0 Salzburg

Arsenal 5-0 Lens

This has been a chastening first half for the visitors. Martin Odegaard gets in on the act with Takehiro Tomiyasu providing the assist just before half time.

Braga 0-1 Union

The Germans take the lead against their 10-man hosts. After Sikou Niakate's sending off, Robin Gosens has put Berlin in front from a Jerome Roussillon assist.

Benfica 3-0 Inter

Joao Mario hat trick! Incredible scenes in Lisbon as the former Inter man completes a first half treble. What a time to hit a purple patch in front of goal! A scrappy goal, but he will not care at all. Casper Tengstedt with another assist as that combination comes up trumps again.

Arsenal 4-0 Lens

This is turning into a rout! Gabriel Martinelli adds the Gunners fourth goal in the space of 14 minutes. What an absolutely ruthless showing this has been!

Arsenal 3-0 Lens

It is already damage control for the French outfit as Bukayo Saka gets in on the act after being teed up by Gabriel Martinelli to make it three goals in just over 10 minutes.

Real 2-1 Napoli

It is that man Jude Bellingham once again! The England international puts the Spanish giants in front to complete the turnaround. David Alaba with the assist.

Arsenal 2-0 Lens

Gabriel Jesus adds a goal to his assist! The hosts lead by two goals and are looking comfortable against their French visitors.

Arsenal 1-0 Lens

Not to be outdone, the Gunners are also off the mark at home to Lens through Kai Havertz's scrappy finish from a Gabriel Jesus assist.

Benfica 2-0 Inter

Joao Mario at the double! What a start for the hosts and the Portugal international who has scored twice against his former club inside the opening 15 minutes.

Real Madrid 1-1 Napoli

What an incredible 60 seconds! Giovanni Simeone gives Napoli the lead from a Giovanni Di Lorenzo assist only for Real to hit back immediately through Rodrygo after he was teed up by Brahim Diaz. Sensational stuff in the Spanish capital!

Benfica 1-0 Inter

Our first goal comes in Portugal! Joao Mario scores for Benfica against former club Inter. Casper Tengstedt nodded it down for the Portuguese midfielder to sweep home past Emil Audero.

How to follow that?

The later games are about to kick off, but how can they possibly top the late drama that we have already enjoyed? We are about to find out. Now underway in all of the other games!

Real Sociedad vs. RB Salzburg lineups

The Spanish side are back in action as they duke it out for top honors in Group D, while their Austrian counterparts aim for Europa League. Here are the linups.

Real Sociedad starting XI: Alex Remiro, Odriozola, Elustondo, Zubeldia, Muñoz, Mendez, Zubimendi, Turrientes, Oyarzabal, Cho, Zakharyan

RB Salzburg starting XI: Schlager, Dedic, Piatkowski, Pavlovic, Ulmer, Sucic, Bidstrup, Gloukh, Capaldo, Dorgeles, Ratkov

Final scores

  • Manchester United 3, Galatasaray 3
  • Sevilla 2, PSV 3

There were no shortage of goals to open today's action, which is good news for PSV and Galatasaray as they inch closer to the round of 16. United will need help on Matchday 6 to stay alive, while Sevilla are on their way out of all European competition.

PSV take the lead!

After going down 2-0, the Dutch side have completed the comeback and are 3-2 up in stoppage time. Vertessen's ball finds Pepi, and the USMNT forward does the honors to give his side the advantage.

Sanchez, Arnautovic partner

Sanchez and Arnautovic lead the line for Inter against Benfica today. Here's a look at both teams' lineups.

Benfica starting XI: Trubin, Aursnes, A. Silva, Otamendi, Morato, Luís, Neves, Di Maria, R. Silva, Mario, Tengstedt

Inter starting XI: Audero, Bisseck, de Vrij, Acerbi, Darmian, Frattesi, Asllani, Klaassen, Augusto, Arnautovic, Sanchez

Saka in the lineup

Saka is joined by Jesus and Martinelli in Arsenal's front line as they take on Lens. Here are both teams' linesups.

Arsenal starting XI: Raya, Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Odegaard, Rice, Havertz, Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

Lens starting XI: Samba, Gradit, Danso, Medina, Frankowski, Mendy, Abdul Samed, Haïdara, Sotoca, Fulgini, Wahi

PSV equalize!

A cross lands into Sevilla's box and eventually comes off of Gudelj's leg and lands in the back of his own net. It's 2-2 between Sevilla and PSV now, and that result is likely not good enough to keep the Spanish side in European competition.
