Jonathan Giles, who was Texas Tech's leading receiver in 2016, announced Monday on Twitter that he would be transferring to LSU to finish his football career.

Giles finished last season with 1,158 yards on 69 receptions and 13 touchdowns, all of which were tops for the Red Raiders. As a freshman, Giles had 143 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He did not appear in Texas Tech's Texas Bowl loss to LSU in 2015.

Per transfer rules, Giles will have to sit out the 2017 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2018. Giles previously announced his top 10 list, which included Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee and others.

By 2018, the Tigers will need to find a replacement for D.J. Chark, who had 466 yards receiving and three touchdowns as a junior last season.
