Alvarez was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

Alvarez cleared waivers three days after being designated for assignment by the Mets and will remain a part of the organization. The 31-year-old right-hander was booted off the 40-man roster just one day after making his first MLB appearance since 2015. He covered 2.1 innings out of the bullpen in a loss to Atlanta, giving up three earned runs on four hits and three walks.
