The Raiders announced Thursday that they’ve re-signed wide receiver Derek Hagan, who played six games for them last season, and waived cornerback Coye Francies.

Hagan broke the news of his signing Wednesday night via Twitter.

“Now I have officially signed back with DA Raiders!!!!!” Hagan tweeted on Wednesday. “Can’t wait to put that silver and black back on!!!!”

According to CSNBayArea.com, Hagan and former Patriots wide receiver Jabar Gaffney worked out for the Raiders earlier Wednesday.

With three of their five wide receivers battling injuries, the Raiders need help at the position. Starter Denarius Moore (hamstring) hasn’t practiced since early in training camp. Jacoby Ford (sprained foot) hasn’t practiced since being injured at Arizona in the club's second exhibition game. Rookie Juron Criner suffered an ankle injury in the preseason finale at Seattle. He has been limited in practice.

Hagan caught 11 passes for 114 yards (no touchdowns) and made two starts for Oakland last year before being released in November to make room on the roster for wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Hagan signed with Buffalo with after being released and caught 13 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in four games, including one start.

Miami drafted Hagan in the third round out of Arizona State in 2006. During his career, he has played for the Dolphins, Giants, Raiders and Bills. He has 109 career catches for 1,221 yards and six TDs.

Hagan was cut Friday by the Bills.

The Raiders claimed Francies off waivers on Aug. 29. Francies, who played eight games for Cleveland in 2009 and 2010, appeared in the exhibition finale against Seattle and fumbled a kickoff. But he played well enough overall to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster.
