Dustin Johnson said on Thursday he was going to take a leave of absence from professional golf to "seek professional help for personal challenges."
He continued.
"By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion."

The PGA Tour added basically nothing.
"We have nothing to add to Dustin’s statement. But wish him well and look forward to his return to the PGA Tour in the future."
Johnson pulled out of this week's Bridgestone Invitational and later announced he would miss the rest of the season, including the Ryder Cup.
Johnson's season is over. Told PGA of America no Ryder Cup.

As it stands right now Patrick Reed is in line to get DJ's Ryder Cup spot.
