LeBron James continues to let down the basketball world by steadfastedly refusing to compete in a Slam Dunk contest. But at least he knows a good dunk when he sees one.
"The homie Paul George got crazy bounce," James tweeted on Friday. "Just saw him [reverse] 360 [between] the legs windmill at the Nike FOS in Shanghei."
Indeed, George does have crazy bounce. The dunk James saw while the pair were on tour in China was a more complicated version of a dunk that George completed in the 2012 Slam Dunk Contest in Orlando. That dunk was one of the better dunks of the competition, but no one could really see it because he decided to turn out the lights and apply glow-in-the-dark patches to his jersey and the ball. It was a cool idea, sure, but it didn't work visually. You can check out that dunk below.
In the dunk from China, George spins in reverse fashion -- he's right-handed and he spun clockwise -- and slips the ball from his left hand to his right hand through his legs as he rotates before finishing the windmill slam hard with his right hand. The whole thing happens so fast you almost can't tell what just hit you. Pretty incredible.
Just imagine this dunk from all angles and in slow motion. George, a 6-foot-8 forward, is a no-brainer selection for future Slam Dunk contests.
