2020 NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Vikings trade away picks for Odell Beckham Jr. and Patrick Peterson

Wild is certainly a word that could be used to describe CBS Sports HQ's Mock Draft 4.0.

All told, eight receivers were taken during the first round, and there were several surprising trades, including the Bengals trading out of the No. 1 overall pick! There were also some shocking transactions, with Cam Newton signing with the Bengals after Cincinnati traded Andy Dalton to the Patriots for a third-round pick. Tua Tagovailoa suffered a steep fall before landing with the Raiders, who traded up to grab him at No. 8 overall.

The Vikings -- with former NFL quarterback Brady Quinn serving as Minnesota's general manager -- made several eyebrow-raising trades. The Vikings acquired receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and cornerback Patrick Peterson after trading away the 22nd and 25th overall picks.

Our experts who took part included ex-NFL players in Quinn, Bryant McFadden and Danny Kanell; former NFL executive Scott Pioli; NFL insiders Jonathan Jones and Jason La Canfora; senior NFL analysts Pete Prisco and Will Brinson; NFL fantasy analysts Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard; and NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson.

Here's a look at each pick. You can re-live Monday's entire live mock draft by checking out our live updates and analysis below.

A really fun mock draft today. Overall, eight receivers taken, no running backs, and a flurry of trades during the first 32 picks. Tua falls to Raiders, while Bengals trade out of first overall pick. Thanks again for joining us today, and be sure to watch CBS Sports HQ for all of your news leading up the 2020 draft!

And with the 32nd and final pick, the Chiefs select DE A.J. Epenesa, who can complement Frank Clark.

We are surging towards the finish here. Pete Prisco and Chris Hassel are pros correctly pronouncing 'Igbinoghene' on the fly.

Surprising: 49ers (and Pete Prisco) select Auburn CB Noah Igbinoghene.

I would personally rather have Lynn Bowden Jr. or Devin Duvernay in Round 2 or 3 honestly. I'm not high on Jalen Reagor. I understand the pick though. They are filling that Randall Cobb role with a smaller, shifty wide receiver.

Packers grab TCU WR Jalen Reagor with the 30th pick.

Green Bay should have been aggressive trying to move up for Justin Jefferson. They need to help Aaron Rodgers in his remaining years. There is not a wide receiver left that I would feel comfortable with in the first round.

The Titans take WR Justin Jefferson with the 29th overall pick. Packers have to be frustrated seeing two of the draft's best wideouts going back-to-back with them picking at No. 30.

The Ravens select WR Denzel Mims out of Baylor with the 28th overall pick. Surprised they didn't take Justin Jefferson.

Seattle strengthens their D-line with the 27th pick, taking DL Marlon Davidson from Auburn.

I love the strategy to build the offensive line. It started a year ago with Jonah Williams and has continued with Cesar Ruiz, Jedrick Wills. Cincinnati has notoriously not invested in their offensive line. They have allowed Andrew Whitworth, Kevin Zeitler, Eric Steinbach and others leave in free agency over the years.

Bengals grab Cesar Ruiz with the No. 26 pick. Good value pick, and the Bengals have strengthened their line.

If you're not going to compete for three years, then there is no point keeping an expensive veteran. The Bengals did that with a handful of players (Andy Dalton, Tyler Eifert, Geno Atkins, Dre Kirkpatrick, A.J. Green, Cordy Glenn, etc...) last season. They should be cashing in on this draft but they are only pushing back their rebuild.

Only if they move A.J. Green. Which they should...yesterday.

Justin Jefferson here with the 26th pick? Bengals are on the clock ...

I really like what Ryan has been able to do as general manager of the Cardinals today. He replaced some aging assets for some promising, young talent. It is important for a young team to plan for the future.

The Cardinals use the pick to select Arizona OT Josh Jones. Nice pick and can help protect Kyler Murray.

I'll go back to the Browns' pick recently. Cleveland signed B.J. Goodson to compete with Mack Wilson and Sione Takitaki -- both of whom were drafted last year -- at the linebacker spot. I do think linebacker remains a need for them. In fact, I wrote about their perfect scenario today. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/...

I'm convinced Brady just didn't want to draft many players today similar to Brinson a week ago. I am joking of course but this is the second veteran trade that Quinn has made in today's mock scenario.

Another trade!

The Saints select LB Kenneth Murray with the 24th overall pick.

Patriots select PSU EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos with 23rd overall pick. They also give up the 98th overall pick to land Andy Dalton.

So they traded a Tiger to draft a Tiger.

Browns made the pick because they need to do a better job defending Lamar Jackson, who they face twice a year in the AFC North.

Browns select LSU LB Patrick Queen with the No. 22 overall pick. But it took trading OBJ to get him.

Cleveland has been steadfast in their assertions that they will not be trading OBJ. They did interview CeeDee Lamb at the NFL combine but I would think this trade would be made earlier so they could add a Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs or Lamb. Instead, they are left with Jarvis Landry.
