WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Cody Rhodes spoils another dominant night for Judgment Day

As with seemingly every episode of Raw, Monday night saw another show dominated by storylines involving Judgment Day. Even segments where they weren't key players felt like they were spiced up with a dash of Judgment Day seasoning.

That included the main event, when Damian Priest was able to outlast Jey Uso thanks to interference from Finn Balor. Cody Rhodes, who'd been put down by Priest earlier in the night, was able to spoil yet another night of Judgment Day dominance, however, when he came to Uso's rescue after the night's main event.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Rhodes spoils another perfect night for Judgment Day

Rhodes interrupted a Balor and Priest interview to open the show. This led to Priest challenging Rhodes to a match at Crown Jewel. Rhodes accepted and then suggested they give a little preview of the match. Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio then arrived to continue turning the odds against Rhodes. Jey Uso ran out from the back to take out Mysterio, but JD McDonagh emerged to hit Rhodes with a chop block. Priest ended the segment by delivering a chairshot to Rhodes' leg as it was wrapped in another chair.

Damian Priest def. Jey Uso via pinfall with South of Heaven. Uso had the match won before Finn Balor ran to the ring and delivered a low blow to set up the finish. Balor continued his attack after the match, eventually delivering a Coup de Grace to Uso. Before Balor and Priest could hobble Uso as they did Rhodes, Rhodes made his way to the ring and took out both men before celebrating with Uso as the show went off the air.

To be fair, it's getting a bit exhausting feeling like the same Judgment Day stories are the focal point of every Raw. It's always the same story. Judgment Day gets the win with the numbers advantage most nights and either ends the show victorious or are run off by one of the top babyfaces on the roster. Monday's show felt like nothing of any real meaning happened as things just trudge along to Crown Jewel, where the shows barely feel like WWE canon. Nothing actually "bad" happened on the show but Raw needs to do something different soon to freshen things up. Grade: C+

What else happened on WWE Raw?

  • The New Day def. Alpha Academy via pinfall when Xavier Woods hit Otis with a rope-walk elbow drop.
  • Rhea Ripley confronted Seth Rollins backstage. Ripley tried to sell Rollins on joining up with Judgment Day saying the group could help Rollins become the world champion instead of just a world champion. Ripley then said the group could make people "acknowledge" him like Roman Reigns, which Rollins said is the last thing he wants.
  • NXT Women's Championship – Becky Lynch (c) def. Indi Hartwell via submission with a Dis-Arm-Her. Lynch now defends her title against Lyra Valkyria on Tuesday night.
  • The contract signing for Crown Jewel's fatal five-way for the women's world championship broke down into a brawl. Rhea Ripley never got in the ring and Nia Jax was the last woman standing as the four challengers brawled.
  • Johnny Gargano def. Giovanni Vinci via pinfall with One Final Beat.
  • Ricochet attacked Logan Paul and Dominik Mysterio during a promo. Paul and Mysterio ran down Rey Mysterio before Paul ran down ring announcer Samantha Irvin, Ricochet's fiance. This brought out Ricochet for a brief brawl before Paul pulled Dominik out of the ring.
  • Piper Niven & Chelsea Green def. Natalya & Nikki Cross via pinfall when Niven hit Natalya with a running crossbody.
  • Drew McIntyre def. Sami Zayn via pinfall with a Claymore. Ripley and Mysterio made their way to ringside late in the match, ultimately causing a distraction that led to Zayn losing the match. Rollins confronted McIntyre after the match, congratulating "the newest member of The Judgment Day" before both men agreed neither would be needing Judgment Day's assistance.
  • Bronson Reed def. Akira Tozawa via pinfall with a Tsunami. The match came about when Tozawa confronted Reed backstage and demanded a match.
