Well that wasn’t as exciting as any of us were hoping.

I suppose the DeMarcus Cousins trade happening on Sunday took a lot of air out of the deadline, but when Nerlens Noel is the biggest deal of the day it was not a very eventful day. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t a Fantasy impact. There was, and it starts this week.

Noel’s move to Dallas should make him a regular contributor across five categories and a must-start when he has four games like he does in Week 19. Noel is the only player in the NBA averaging at least 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block per 36 minutes.

His new teammate, Yogi Ferrell is also going to become more relevant with the Mavericks buying out Deron Williams. Ferrell has averaged 15 points and 5 assists per 36 minutes with Williams off the floor and will get every chance down the stretch to prove that he’s part of the future in Dallas.

While the stability of heading to Dallas helps Noel, no player sees a bigger bump than Dario Saric. With the departure of Noel (and Ersan Ilyasova) and the questionable health of Joel Embiid, Saric should star in Week 19 and the second half. Saric has averaged 16 points, 9 boards and 3 assists per 36 minutes without Noel and Ilyasova. The numbers only get better when you take Embiid out of the equation.

Speaking of Embiid’s health, you pretty much have to start Jahlil Okafor this week. If Embiid plays, it all it will likely just be one game which means Okafor figures to get big minutes in at least three games. This team has every motivation to showcase the big man in the second half.

If the Noel trade was the biggest, the second biggest was probably between the Bulls and Thunder. Unfortunately, I can’t get excited about any of them in Week 19.

I’m concerned about Gibson’s role with his new team, especially with Enes Kanter close to returning. Gibson was arguably the Bulls best big man, but he’ll now be part of a rotation in Oklahoma City. With four games, I’d be tempted to start him with a guarantee that Kanter wouldn’t return this week. We have no such guarantee.

The rest of the players in this deal are largely irrelevant from a Fantasy perspective. Nikola Mirotic deserves a speculative add, but with the Bulls only playing three games this week, I’d like to see production before I put him in the starting lineup.
