Free agent running back Chris Ogbonnaya announced he will retire after six NFL seasons, according to NFL.com.

Ogbonnaya made the announcement via his Instagram account.

"It is with great thankfulness to God and appreciation of my family, coaches, and fans that I announce my retirement from football," Ogbonnaya wrote. "It has been an absolute privilege to play this game that I love, and I look forward to my continued involvement in the future."

Ogbonnaya was last with the Giants, who cut him in May. He rushed for 604 yards on 130 carries throughout his career.
