Welcome to the 2021 NFL trade deadline! On Tuesday, almost every decision-maker in the league was on the horn trying to wheel and deal to improve their club for either the stretch run of this year or to build going forward. Several conversations materialized into trades, while other conversations failed to be put into action before the league's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
The first trade to go down near the deadline happened on Monday, with Denver sending Von Miller to the Rams for a pair of future second-round picks. Speaking of pass rushers, on Tuesday the Steelers sent former Pro Bowler Melvin Ingram to the Chiefs in exchange for a future sixth-round pick. The Dolphins ultimately decided to pull the plug on a potential trade with Houston that would have sent Deshaun Watson to Miami. In Cleveland, the Browns elected to keep receiver Odell Beckham Jr. despite controversy including his father's recent public criticism of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. These were just some of the big storylines from what was a busy start to Week 9 of the 2021 regular season.
