Champions League scores: Bayern send PSG, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe home; Tottenham ousted by AC Milan

Half of the final eight in Champions League has been decided. Using their home advantage, Bayern Munich rode goals from Eric Maxim Chupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry to a 2-0 victory over PSG (3-0 on aggregate). PSG had chances in the match but they weren't able to find a finishing touch while injuries to both Marquinhos and Nordi Mukiele put Christophe Galtier's defense into a tough spot. Unable to keep Bayern at bay, PSG eventually caved to the pressure allowing two goals which could see a scenario where Lionel Messi has played his final Champions League minutes as he is out of contract in the summer and Inter Miami are interested in bringing him to Major League Soccer.

In London, Tottenham never showed urgency drawing 0-0 with AC Milan, meaning the Italian side advance 1-0 on aggregate. Cristian Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge on Theo Hernandez and Spurs didn't register a dangerous chance until the 93rd minute of play via Harry Kane. While it was a well defended match from AC Milan, Tottenham never looked like a fighting Antonio Conte team as the clock could be ticking on the Italian manager's time in charge.

PSG and Spurs are out, AC Milan and Bayern are through

Another season where PSG's Champions League challenge ends in disappointment as they didn't score a goal in two legs against Bayern Munich. Even without Neymar, PSG has two of the best attackers in the world but weren't clinical enough to get the job done. Well done for Bayern keeping things in check but PSG had to do better.

AC Milan's improvement continues seeing out a 0-0 draw to make the last eight of the Champions League taking advantage of Cristian Romero's recklessness. Tottenham finished with 10 and never felt like they would threaten in the game.

SIx minutes of stoppage time

AC Milan hasn't been great in the match but Spurs haven't been a team that wants to attack in the match. Can they find a late equalizer?

He's been asking for it...

Romero's off and Tottenham will now finish the game with 10 men. The center back is receiving treatment but it won't matter as a reckless challenge on Theo Hernandez has seen Romero given a second yellow.

Where's the urgency?

Spurs seem like a team that are trying to defend a lead as they're unable to cut through AC Milan's lines to make something happen. They need two goals in under 30 mintues to avoid extra time and it feels like they'd need to get lucky to even score once.

The second time is the charm

Chupo-Moting stays onside this time and slots it home giving Bayer the 1-0 lead and a 2-0 lead on aggregate. It's hard to see where PSG will find three goals to avoid penalties.

Romero is starting the second half how he ended the first

He'll need to be careful or Tottenham will be down to 10 before the game is out, something that they can't afford although the attack has more energy as the second half is beginning.

Bayern's goal is called off

Chupo-Moting has the ball in the back of the net but he's called back due to being slightly off before the finish. It will be removed it's a close one but the right call in the end.

Only a 10 minute shift for Mukiele

After picking up a knock, he'll be replaced by Bitshiabu for the second half. Not an ideal scenario for PSG. Luckily since it happened at the half, PSG will have two windows remaining for changes.

It's halftime in Bayern vs. PSG

Bayern are a little lucky that things are level but PSG has had one great attempt and a few good runs that didn't lead to much. Possession has been even but the second half will need to open up as Bayern can't continue to defend against PSG or they'll concede multiple goals at this rate.

Neither game has goals despite being open

Bayern vs. PSG has had chances but Spurs are in a cagy match. Antonio Conte has picked up a yellow card along with two players. With only four shots between the two teams and none hitting the target, Tottenham will have to push forward eventually.

If Tottenham advance, Romero won't be able to play

Picking up a yellow in the match, he will be suspended for the first leg of the last eight if Tottenham qualifies which is already a big if at this stage of things.

PSG have grown into the game

It was all Bayern out of the gate but Messi and Mbappe are influencing the game. Feels like only a matter of time until someone is on a yellow card with these last ditch defensive interventions.

Quite a blow to PSG

It sounds like the Brazilian defender has been unable to finish his warm up in Germany and that Mukiele has finished the session with the starters. Not ideal for Galtier who already has to reshuffle his pack. Marquinhos had been a doubt and could now pass the captain's armband to Mbappe.

For Tottenham, can Harry Kane hit the back of the net?

Harry Kane vs. Fikayo Tomori – Tottenham will definitely need to score soon during the match if they want to have chances to make it to the quarter finals of this season. Harry Kane will play against Fikayo Tomori in what it's going to be one of the most interesting duels of the game. Tomori is not playing particularly well this season and comes from a big mistake that led to the penalty scored by Nico Gonzalez against Fiorentina last Saturday.  -- Francesco Porzio
