The Pistons have reportedly signed Reggie Jackson to a five-year, $80 million max deal. The move does not apparently signal a decision to trade Brandon Jennings, but it is a lot of money for Jackson who struggled with efficiency last year after being traded to Detroit and being given the reins. Stan Van Gundy clearly is in Jackson's corner, though. That's a lot of money for a non-elite point guard at this point.

Yahoo Sports reports that the Lakers are close to an agreement with free agent forward Brandon Bass. Bass gives them some good depth down low and is an upgrade on what they've had. He should be their first big off the bench. Read more on Bass here.

ESPN reports the Mavericks came to a two-year agreement with Jazz free agent big man Jeremy Evans. Evans, a two-time dunk participant, is impossibly long and athletic and can at least give some spot minutes with athleticism. Not a bad low-risk move for a team that needs any big it can find.

RealGM reports that the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a three-year deal with reigning Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams. Yahoo reports the deal at $21 million total. It's good value, but if the Lakers have Kobe Bryant, rookie D'Angelo Russell, Williams and potentially Nick Young on the team, they're going to have the worst shot selection in all of creation. ESPN reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in a trade for Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Johnson. The move would save the Nets a huge amount in luxury tax if they were to trade for Brendan Haywood's expiring non-guaranteed contract from Cleveland along with Anderson Varejao. The question is whether LeBron will OK the move given his long-standing love and respect for Varejao, who is really the only piece they can move to make up the salary difference.
