Mr. Oh-fer.

That's me. Yes, I went 0-5 in my best bets last week as part of Team OddsShark in the Westgate Super Contest in Las Vegas.

Oh-fer.

And because I picked the Thursday night game in the contest, I added a bonus pick here on the Giants at minus 7½. Guess what that was? It was another giant looooser.

You have to put in some work to go 0-6 in a week with games you actually liked. That's the type of season it's been for me.

Getting a gauge on this league for me is much like the presidential race for the pollsters. The more information I have, the worse the outcome for my picks.

So this week, I let my cat Mookie make two of my picks. Seriously. I put two pieces of food on papers with two team names, and whichever morsel he went to first was the team I picked.

I have video to verify his picks, too. Who did Mookie take? The Broncos at minus 3½ and the Falcons with minus 4.

Here are the rest of the picks. The way things are going, I have a feeling my cat will even beat me.

Cowboys minus 7: I know this is a lot of points in a rivalry game, but I really think this Dallas team is rolling and the Redskins are on a short week and played Sunday night. That will matter. Kirk Cousins won't be rubbing his GM's head after this one.

Steelers minus 8: Scott Tolzien. Scott Tolzien. Scott Tolzien. The Steelers will roll and the Colts won't keep up.

Falcons minus 4: The Falcons are coming off a bye and the Cardinals are playing consecutive road games. That matters. Atlanta can score and I think they will against the No. 1-ranked defense in the league. P.S.: This was my cat's pick. I initially liked the Cardinals.

Broncos minus 3½: Something doesn't seem right with the Chiefs. They aren't playing well on defense and have injuries on that side of the ball. The Broncos are coming off a bye and should be rested. I don't love their offense, but Jacksonville had 448 yards against the Chiefs a few weeks ago. P.S.: I liked the Broncos, but the cat made the pick.

Packers plus 4: I am being stubborn or stupid in this one. I just think the Packers, even on consecutive road trips, will find a way to keep this close and maybe win it. With that defense, Aaron Rodgers will need the game of his life. He gets it.
