MALIBU, Calif. (AP) Lamond Murray Jr. had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Pepperdine beat Portland 78-60 on Thursday night to snap a five-game losing streak.

Murray was 9 of 20 from the floor, and has scored 20 points or more in six straight games to match a program record. Jeremy Major added 20 points for Pepperdine (6-15, 2-7 West Coast Conference). Chris Reyes chipped in 10 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds.

Jazz Johnson scored 18 points and D'Marques Tyson had 13 to lead Portland (9-12, 2-7), which has lost seven in a row, including four by double digits.

The game was tied at 43 with about 16 minutes left, and Pepperdine used an 18-4 run to take a 61-47 lead with 7:48 to play. Major made two 3-pointers to lead seven players who scored during the stretch, and the Pilots pulled no closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
