Harris was assigned Thursday to the D-League's Texas Legends, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
Harris, who agreed to a 10-day contract with the Mavericks earlier in the day, is expected to play with the Legends in Thursday's game against the Northern Arizona Suns. He's expected to be recalled back to the big club ahead of Friday's game against the Nets, when he could make his first appearance at the NBA level since 2013-14. If Harris does earn a spot in coach Rick Carlisle's rotation, he'll likely see no more than a handful of minutes off the bench.
