Indians catcher Brett Hayes has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Columbus. Hayes, who is a seven-year veteran, has the right to refuse the assignment, according to MLB.com. However, it has not been revealed if Hayes will indeed reject the assignment, or if he will head to Columbus.

Hayes was designated for assignment on Sunday when Yan Gomes was activated off of the disabled list. In limited playing time, Hayes had just five hits in 32 at-bats this season.
