Report: Indians' Brett Hayes accepts Triple-A assignment

Indians catcher Brett Hayes has accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Columbus, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Hayes cleared waivers and was sent outright to Columbus earlier this week, but he had the opportunity to reject the assignment and become a free agent. He went 5 for 32 with three home runs and six RBI with the Indians before the move was made.
