Julio Jones isn't going anywhere. The Falcons and Jones have agreed to a five-year contract extension, reportedly worth up to $71.25 million.
Peter King reported the news first, citing a source. Then, at 6:26 p.m. ET on Saturday, the team confirmed the news.
According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the deal is worth $71.25 million, with $47 million guaranteed.
And here's the moment Jones found out about his new contract.
Jones, still only 26 years old, has been a force since entering the league back in 2011. The Falcons traded up to snag Jones with the No. 6 pick in that draft, and Jones hasn't disappointed them since. Though he missed most of the 2013 season due to a foot injury, Jones has amassed 278 receptions, 4,330 yards, and 26 touchdowns in his career. Last season, Jones snagged a career-high 104 receptions for a career-high 1,593 yards.
Jones entered the 2015 offseason in the final year of his contract. Now, he'll remain in Atlanta for the long term.
