Kings' Mark Alt: Grabs two-way deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Kings on Saturday.

Alt spent the entire 2019-20 campaign in the minors with AHL Colorado in which he registered five goals and eight helpers. The 28-year-old blueliner is unlikely to see much in terms of NHL minutes this season and instead figures to serve as a veteran leader with AHL Ontario.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Heads to waivers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was waived by the Avalanche for purpose of reassignment Monday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

The Avalanche are strong offensively, so Alt couldn't hang onto a roster spot, especially with the addition of Cale Makar. If Alt clears waivers, he'll land with AHL Colorado. He played 61 games with the minor-league club last season, posting 19 points and 30 PIM.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Bound for minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was sent down to AHL Colorado on Monday.

With no additional defensemen on the roster, the move to demote Alt could be a sign that Mark Barberio (upper body) will be activated off injured reserve prior to Monday's clash with the Islanders -- although the team could opt not to carry an emergency depth player and hope nobody gets hurt during warmups. Alt -- who has been waived twice the season -- has been watching from the press box for the past six games and has seen action just twice this year.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Summoned to parent club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was recalled from AHL Colorado on Thursday.

The Avs currently need help on the blue line, hence the reason why they reassigned Sheldon Dries in favor of Alt, who ascends to the top level in the wake of an undisclosed issue to mobile puck-mover Tyson Barrie. Alt is still looking for his first NHL point after 16 career games between Philadelphia and Colorado.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: On waiver wire
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was designated for waivers by Colorado on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Alt has been a fringe player for the past couple of seasons and has just 16 NHL games under his belt. Without a clearly defined role with the club, he is likely to spend the year in the minors, but could earn the occasional call-up to provide additional depth.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Snags contract extension
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way deal with Colorado on Thursday.

Alt joined the Avs just ahead of the trade deadline, when the club snatched him off the waiver wire from the Flyers. The defenseman spent the bulk of his time in the Mile High City watching from the press box -- including the entire postseason. Alt figures to serve primarily as a depth option on the blue line, but the Kansas City native could attempt to earn a bigger role with a strong training training camp in the fall.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Still searching for first NHL point
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt suited up for 15 games between the Flyers (eight) and Avalanche (seven) in 2017-18.

Alt skated in his first NHL action since the 2014-15 campaign, but he failed to mark the scoresheet again. Alt was on the roster for the six NHL playoff games with the Avalanche, but he didn't dress for any of them. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 201 pounds, Alt has the ability to be a formidable NHL blueliner, but his inability to score in the AHL over the last two seasons (21 points, 63 games) keeps him from getting those opportunities.

Avalanche's Mark Alt: Pried off waivers by Colorado
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was claimed off waivers by the Avalanche (heading over from Philadelphia) on Monday.

The University of Minnesota standout was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. A right shot, he'd only manage to draw into nine NHL games since procuring a three-year, entry-level deal. and ultimately, a one-year standard contract with the Flyers. He's still searching for his first NHL point, and is set to become a Group-6 unrestricted free agent this summer, which is a special provision for a player who is age 25-plus in the calendar year for which the deal expires -- Alt is 26 years old.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Waived Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was waived Sunday by Philadelphia, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.

It appears Ron Hextall could be freeing up a roster spot and cap space for a potential trade Monday, and as a result Alt will head back to the minors -- that is, if he clears waivers. Alt's only appeared in eight games this season, going pointless, and it seems unlikely he'll be a large part of Philadelphia's future plans this season -- especially since Travis Sanheim has been logging a point per game at the AHL level.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was called up from AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Alt last appeared in a game for the Flyers on Dec. 8 against the Canucks, in which he recorded one hit, one block and a minus-1 rating. There is no guarantee the 25-year-old cracks the lineup for Tuesday's clash with the Red Wings, as this move could be more intended to get Travis Sanheim some additional ice time in the minors.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Waived by Philadelphia
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Flyers placed Alt on waivers Friday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

Alt's demotion indicates Brandon Manning (hand) is likely nearing a return to game action. The 26-year-old blueliner, who's gone scoreless in eight games with the big club this campaign, will continue to be one of the first players the Flyers turn to when they're dealing with injuries at defense.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Recalled by big club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Flyers recalled Alt from AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Radko Gudas is dealing with a lengthy suspension, so Alt will round out the Flyers' depth at defense until Gudas is eligible to return. The 26-year-old blueliner has notched five goals and nine points in 16 games with AHL Lehigh Valley this campaign.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Returning to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

Alt featured in two contests since his most recent recall, finishing with a plus-1 rating, a single shot on goal, and two hits. The University of Minnesota product is more of a stay-at-home defender, so even if he earns another recall he shouldn't be given much fantasy lineup consideration.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Ascends to parent club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday.

The Flyers sent Alt down to the minors so he could compete in Saturday's game against Hershey, but the Phantoms were handed a 6-1 loss on the road. Having averaged a mere 13:15 of ice time and failing to show up on the scoresheet in his first four games with the parent club this season, Alt will be on hand as a low-end depth player for the Flyers.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Reassigned to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was sent down to AHL Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Alt slowly saw his ice time decrease during his four-game stint in the majors, culminating with his healthy scratch against Chicago on Wednesday. Unsurprisingly, the Flyers decided to return him to the Phantoms, rather than having him watching from the press box. With injuries an ever-present concern, it is unlikely this is the last we have seen of Alt in the NHL this season.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Called up to NHL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was recalled from AHL Lehigh Valley on Monday, per the NHL official media site.

With Shayne Gostisbehere (upper body) and Samuel Morin (undisclosed) both nursing injuries, Alt will likely slot into the third pairing on defense if both players are given the night off to recover. The 26-year-old has only appeared in one NHL game before back in the 2014-15 season, but has logged a combined 17 points in 50 games in the minors during last two seasons.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Waived by team
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt was placed on waivers Friday by the Flyers, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Alt made his NHL debut for Philadelphia in 2014-15 but hasn't been able to work his way back into an NHL contest since. A product of the University of Minnesota, the 25-year-old logged a mere 40 outings for the Phantoms last season in which he tallied one goals and 10 helpers. The defenseman re-signed with the Flyers for another year over the summer and will have to prove himself worthy of a long-term deal if he wants to stick around any further.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Staying in Philly
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt signed a one-year contract with the Flyers on Tuesday.

Although he's only played in one NHL game, the 25-year-old will stay in Philadelphia for at least one more year. He'll likely continue spending most of his time in the AHL, where he's recorded 40 points over the past three seasons. Alt's best opportunity for ice time will come if Nick Schultz and Michael Del Zotto sign with other clubs once free agency opens July 1, which they're fully expected to do.

Flyers' Mark Alt: Finally healthy, but waived Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt (upper body) has been cleared to play, but the Flyers waived him Thursday in order clear a roster spot for Roman Lyubimov, CSN Philadelphia reports.

Alt has yet to play this season; he'd been on the non-roster injured list prior to getting waived. If the 25-year-old rearguard goes unclaimed Friday, he'll report to AHL Lehigh Valley. For what it's worth, GM Ron Hextall said Alt "does have intangibles that are good for a locker room and good for a team."

Flyers' Mark Alt: Designated for injured non-roster list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Alt (upper body) was placed on the injured non-roster list Friday, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.

Alt, who was injured during a preseason scrap, is a near lock for reassignment to the minors once he is cleared to return to action. The 24-year-old has just one career NHL game to his name back in the 2014-15 campaign, when he saw just 9:25 of ice time. Until he can earn a spot on the Flyers' depth chart, fantasy owners shouldn't be too worried about picking up the blueliner.
