Fan Controlled Sports & Entertainment has announced the creation of Fan Controlled Racing, which will partner with SS Green Light Racing to allow race fans to interact with and control the team's No. 08 Ford in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship race at Phoenix Raceway. The company's entry into racing follows the creation of Fan Controlled Football, which has played two seasons.

In the lead-up to the Xfinity Series finale on Nov. 4, fans will get to choose the driver of the No. 08 Ford -- Stefan Parsons, J.J. Yeley, David Starr and Mason Massey are the four options -- as well as design the car's paint scheme through the company's Control App. Then, fans will be able to collaborate with the team on live race strategy calls, such as when to pit and what lane to choose for a restart.

"We couldn't be more excited about bringing the energy and interactivity of Fan Controlled Sports to the racetrack," read a statement by FCSE co-founder Patrick Dees. "This will be the first of many live race experiences where fans get to call the shots, help determine the strategy, and be a part of the race team."

Fans who engage in the Control App will earn Fan Experience Points and climb a leaderboard each week, which will give them an opportunity to win a chance to have their picture put on the hood of the Fan Controlled No. 08 Ford. In addition, fans will also have a chance at earning VIP pit and garage passes.

The No. 08 is one of two full-time Xfinity Series teams fielded by SS Green Light Racing and longtime NASCAR car owner Bobby Dotter. Led by crew chief Jason Miller, the No. 08 team has had multiple drivers this season with a best finish of eighth at Talladega in April with Gray Gaulding behind the wheel.
