Canisius rallies late to beat Siena 70-66
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Takal Molson scored 23 points and Isaiah Reese added 20 as Canisius rallied in the second half to beat Siena 70-66 on Saturday night.
Molson and Reese also contributed eight rebounds apiece for the Golden Griffins (5-8, 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Scott Hitchon added 11 points and Jalanni White chipped in eight points and eight boards.
Canisius trailed 40-30 at the break and was down 47-37 early in the second half when a Molson dunk sparked a 15-3 run capped by a Hitchon layup to give the Golden Griffins a 52-51 lead with 11:57 to play. White's jumper with 5:47 to play put Canisius on top for good, 59-58, and free throws by Molson and Reese in the stretch helped preserve the win.
Evan Fisher scored 21 points with a career-high 17 rebounds to lead the Saints (5-10, 0-2).
