Washington linebacker Travis Feeney has shaved a pink ribbon into his hairstyle in October for the second straight season to join and honor the national campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer and breast cancer research.

“I was doing it for my mom,” Feeney said in October 2014 after returning an interception for a touchdown in a win against Colorado. “I’m just trying to show everyone back home, represent for them and show them I love them. It’s just a remembrance of them, a dedication.”

Feeney said at the time that several family members, including a friend of his mother, had lost their lives to breast cancer over the past few years. His hairstyle got caught on camera during Washington's upset at USC on Thursday night, but the reason was as much for his play on the field as the story of his hairstyle.

"The 6-foot-3, 223 pound Feeney was everywhere, showing terrific closing speed and an explosive pop to rattle Kessler, who struggled from the outset in this game, ultimately completing just 16 of 29 passes for 156 yards and two interceptions without a touchdown," NFL Draft analyst Rob Rang wrote, adding that Feeney's three-sack perfomrance may have been the biggest story for NFL scouts on Thursday night.
