Idaho entered the postseason with momentum in one of the proudest seasons in program history. Paul Petrino brought the Vandals in hot, winning six of its final regular-season eight games, and capped it off with the school's third bowl victory, 61-50 against Colorado State in Boise.

The Rams were double-digit favorites, led by Mike Bobo and an offense that put up big numbers in the Mountain West. Idaho, set to transition to FCS and the Big Sky Conference, now has a huge postseason performance on record along with a tie for the school record for wins (9).

The game unfolded in a unique manner, with reportedly record-setting second-half bowl scoring totals.

The best moment of the night for Idaho was this one-handed touchdown grab by Jordan Frysinger, also one of five scores for Vandals quarterback Matt Linehan on the night.

After the game, Idaho got to have its bowl celebration. Linehan got bowl game MVP honors and Petrino to the mic on the podium.

Idaho never sweated, leading by as many as 34 points, and now gets to celebrate the in-state Potato Bowl victory.
