Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was the headliner for the second day of Big Ten Media Days in Chicago. The Wolverines new head man took the podium on Friday morning and took questions for 15 minutes.

While there were a few Michigan football questions scattered in, most of the questions from the media gathered in Chicago were focused on Harbaugh's return to Michigan and those who influenced him on his path to coaching. Harbaugh was asked about his old coach at Michigan Bo Schembechler and the influence his father had on his coaching.

Harbaugh also made sure to mention others that he felt were big influences on his life and career like Al Davis and Chicago Bears legend Mike Ditka -- who Harbaugh played for in the NFL. He just so happened to have brought a Ditka jersey with him to the podium for the occasion and showed it off for the cameras.

Harbaugh said he got the jersey on Thursday night when he went to Ditka's restaurant and had dinner with the coach and his wife. Harbaugh was asked to elaborate on what he had learned from Ditka, to which Harbaugh offered up a winding explanation of how a coach is like family to a player -- but no real specifics of things he picked up from Ditka.

“[I learned] so many things," said Harbaugh. "It’s your coach. When you’re a player, your coach is like family. There is your family, sometimes there’s a favorite teacher that you had, there’s sometimes a neighbor you were very close to, maybe someone in the church or clergy and then your coach. It’s so close to your family.

I had a chance to spend the evening with Coach [Ditka] last night at his restaurant and Diana [Ditka] was there and Sarah [Harbaugh] was there. It was just really, really special to be with my coach. In fact, I picked up a Ditka jersey from the restaurant...No, he didn’t autograph it, but I’ll be proud to wear that.”
