On the night before USC played Notre Dame in 1927 at Soldier Field in Chicago, a star-studded event was held to build hype for the game. Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne and USC coach Howard Jones were joined by a pair of baseball legends, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, suited up in school colors.
Check out below as Ruth is posed next to Rockne, wearing an "ND" jersey, and Gegrig is two spots down in an "SC" jersey. The event, reportedly organized by a baseball agent, also promoted the Stanford-Yale game, which explains the presence of Stanford coach Glenn "Pop" Warner (far left).
