Sterling Lane, a four-star linebacker prospect in the Class of 2022 from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California, announced his commitment to Arizona live on CBS Sports HQ. Lane chose the Wildcats over Arkansas, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon and Oregon State.

Lane is ranked No. 322 overall, No. 23 in the state of California and No. 37 among linebackers in the updated 247Sports Composite rankings. He has made three official visits since the NCAA lifted the dead period on June 1 -- Arizona, Colorado and Oregon State. He wasn't able to make official visits to Oregon and Michigan, and credits Arizona for setting the tone for his remaining two visits.

"That was my first official visit and they set the bar really high for everyone else," Lane said. "I loved everything about the school and how well I fit in there. The coaches were personable and I love the energy and direction they have the program going. The players all took me in and I bonded really well with everyone I met. My parents loved it out there too and that was probably my favorite visit."

Lane, the 15th player and second four-star prospect to commit to coach Jedd Fisch's program during the current recruiting cycle, had 34 tackles, including seven tackles for loss, in five games for the Lions as a junior.
