Florida dominated Kentucky 45-7 on Saturday afternoon in The Swamp to extend its winning streak over the Wildcats to 30 consecutive games. This week's SEC Scholar Athletes -- Florida defensive back Quincy Wilson and Kentucky center Jon Toth -- played important roles for both of their teams on Saturday.
Wilson was one of three Florida DBs to pick off Kentucky quarterback Drew Barker. Wilson finished with one tackle and one interception on the afternoon, though the pick was an impressive one-handed grab that swung momentum in the Gators' direction early. Off the field, Wilson is a Sociology major with a 3.0 GPA in his junior year. He's also active in the community participating in Little League mentoring and St. Augustine Church's food basket packing program.
Toth is the Wildcats' leader on the offensive line at center and helped pave the way for Kentucky's 94 rushing yards on Saturday. Off the field, Toth is in his senior year as a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Spanish with a 3.29 GPA and is a nominee for the National Football Foundation's Scholar-Athlete Award.
