The Indians have placed center fielder and leadoff hitter Michael Bourn on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring injury, the team announced. He will undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine the severity of the injury.

Bourn, 31, exited Saturday's game with a the hamstring problem. He missed the start of this season recovering from offseason surgery on that same left hamstring. As a player who draws so much of his value -- both offensively and defensively -- from his speed, any kind of leg injury is a big concern.

In 66 games and 309 plate appearances around the hamstring problems, Bourn has hit .267/.316/.379 (97 OPS+) with seven home runs and only seven stolen basesthis year. He hit .263/.316/.360 (92 OPS+) with 23 home runs in 130 games last season, his first with Cleveland.
