Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is competing in what's called the Walter Payton Man of the Year Charity Challenge. Basically, whichever NFL player is able to generate the most hashtags with #(Player's Name)WPMOYChallenge will get $25,000 donated to the charity of their choice.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry decided to endorse San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith.

Olsen was predictably irked, considering Curry is a longtime Panthers fan after growing up in Carolina, and has supported fellow Under Armour star Cam Newton. Olsen tweeted at the unanimous MVP.

Burn. Smith is apparently still good with Olsen, and Olsen still good with Smith. But Curry may not get a wonderful greeting from Olsen next time he shows up for a Panthers game.

It's understandable, though. Smith is in the same market as Curry, the two have probably been at various charity events together and Curry's developed a relationship with him. It's not an either/or situation. Curry can support Smith and love the Panthers. After all, millions of fans share the same dichotomous interests.

However, next time, Olsen should really just say, "Man, that's too bad. I thought I was going to win this challenge! I even thought I had a 3-1 lead before Steph showed up!"

Just an idea for next time.
