Apparently, it's the most dunktastic time of the year. I didn't know dunktastic was a word, but you learn something new every day. Here is the NBA's new commercial for its Christmas Day slate, wherein Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Draymond Green, Zach LaVine, Victor Oladipo and Zach LaVine and the Spurs' Coyote wish you happy holidays in song:

It's a lovely commercial. I've watched it a few times. But don't let this distract you from the fact that this year's Christmas slate is looking kind of unappealing outside of the Golden State Warriors visiting the Cleveland Cavaliers for the first time since the NBA Finals. Celtics vs. Knicks and Bulls vs. Spurs feel like regular Tuesday night games, Timberwolves vs. Thunder has lost its luster because of Minnesota's poor start and Clippers vs. Lakers sounded a lot better before the Lakers' eight-game losing streak. I'm not sure how dunktastic this will really be.
