WWE Raw results, recap, grades: Judgment Day overreach, lose momentum ahead of Crown Jewel

Rhea Ripley proclaimed Judgment Day as the driving force behind WWE Raw, but they face fierce opposition. It was a rough day at the office for the villainous stable thanks to the combined might of Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.

Ripley, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and fringe faction member JD McDonagh were a constant presence through Monday's show, but generally found themselves on the losing end. It was a tough outing for a group working to spread their influence across Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

The Judgement Day had more on their hands than Rhodes, Uso and Zayn. The group also had to contend with world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins and aerial specialist Ricochet. It's possible the group is spreading themselves too thin with their ambitious takeover of WWE.

CBS Sports was with you all night with recaps and highlights of all the action from Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

Judgment Day

Judgment Day kicked off the show with Ripley taking the microphone. She boasted about Judgment Day's planned takeover of Raw. It starts with Mysterio taking out Ricochet and McDonagh beating Rollins. Suddenly, Zayn's music hit. He took a seat on the corner ringpost defiantly. Zayn told the Judgment Day that he would fight them with every last fiber of his being. Ripley said she would leverage her influence to book a match between Zayn and Priest.

Backstage, Priest teased cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at Crown Jewel. He also questioned why Ripley made a match without consulting him when Judgment Day is supposed to be an equal partner initiative. Ripley said she trusts Priest as the group's righteous hand of punishment.

Mysterio def. Ricochet via pinfall with a victory roll following interference by Ripley.

Uso said during an interview that he plans on confronting Balor soon and is determined to retrieve the tag team titles with Rhodes.

Rollins def. McDonagh via pinfall after hitting the Stomp in a competitive match. Priest attempted to distract Rollins during the match while teasing a Money in the Bank cash-in.

Priest def. Zayn via disqualification after Uso superkicked him. Zayn and Priest fought a competitive bout, but things got out of control after Balor, Mysterio and McDonagh interfered. Uso and Rhodes leveled the playing field, leading to a DQ after Uso struck Priest. Rhodes hit a pair of Cross Rhodes to McDonagh on the announcer's table before cutting a promo on Priest, accusing him of being at the bottom of Judgment Day's pecking order.

There were a lot of moving parts on Raw but it didn't feel like much of it mattered. Dominik scored a win necessary to prevent the night from being a total flub for Judgment Day, but the group continues to flip-flop between dominant force and main event fodder. Much of Monday's plot felt like filler for Crown Jewel. The only thing of interest was Rhodes playing mind games with Priest, acknowledging the very real possibility that Priest is losing favor with the group. Grade: B-
