The crop of players has been narrowed. Five 2015-16 college stars made the cut. USATSI

USA Basketball has released the names for the Men's Select Team that gets to compete with the NBA's best -- the players that will be named to Team USA's Olympic team. The group of 25 players picked will play against/train with Team USA in July.

Making the cut is a big deal, and even more rare if you're a player who's just come out of college. Only five players who starred last year in college hoops that made the list:

  • Malcolm Brogdon (Virginia)
  • Kris Dunn (Providence)
  • Brandon Ingram (Duke)

Villanova coach Jay Wright will be an assistant for this team, serving under Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. Popovich will take over for Team USA after Duke's Mike Krzyzewski fulfills his final duty this year, when he coaches the team at the Olympics in Rio.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim has been an assistant under Krzyzewski in recent years for the men's national team.

Krzyzewski's influence is reflected on this team, with five former Duke players on the roster - Hood, Ingram, Okafor, Parker and Winslow.
