Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall surprised many with his exit from BYU after more than a decade as an assistant and head coach in Provo.

He explained the move in a discussion with CBS' Brian Jones, which involved moving not only his wife and children, but all of the family's animals -- including horses, cattle and more.

"Everybody's here, plus chickens and ducks," Mendenhall said with a laugh. "There's cattle involved as well. We're an animal family. It might have been the most unique move the University of Virginia has ever had."

Mendenhall went on to explain how raising animals can be a good teaching tool for children in how to focus on "something other than themselves." As far as teaching the players, Mendenhall also brought several of his assistant coaches from BYU in the move. Once in Charlottesville, he also made some local hires, including former ECU coach Ruffin McNeill to help with recruiting in the southeast and mid-Atlantic.

Check out Jones and Bronco's full chat Monday night on CBS Sports Network (channel finder).
