Something tells me that if you were to throw a party and invite every FBS team to it that Brigham Young would be the first school to show up. I don't know that it would bring beer, but I bet it would come with a veggie tray at least.

Earlier this season BYU became the first school to accept a bowl invite this season, agreeing to play in the Fight Hunger Bowl. Now the school has announced it has accepted an invitation to play in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl following the 2016 and 2018 seasons.

Of course the Cougars will have to be bowl eligible in order to play in the games, and will face a Mountain West opponent each year.

As for why BYU is accepting bowl invites so early, it's important to remember that the Cougars are an independent program without the automatic bowl tie-ins that come with being the member of a conference.
