Through 3 Quarters

The Georgia State Panthers were expected to take an 'L' in this one, but so far it isn't playing out to script. Either team is in a position to win, but they lead against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 10-7.

TE Roger Carter has led the way so far for Georgia State, as he has caught three passes for one TD and 76 yards. Louisiana has been led by WR Peter LeBlanc, who so far has caught nine passes for one TD and 118 yards.

The Ragin' Cajuns have been used to carrying a lead into the fourth quarter lately, so we'll see how they respond to the deficit.

What to Know

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and the Georgia State Panthers will face off in a Sun Belt clash at 7:30 p.m. ET Nov. 4 at Cajun Field. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

Louisiana got themselves on the board against the Texas State Bobcats last week, but Texas State never followed suit. The Ragin' Cajuns claimed a resounding 45 to nothing win over the Bobcats at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Louisiana had established a 35 to nothing advantage. Louisiana QB Levi Lewis was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 229 yards on 33 attempts.

Special teams collected 13 points for Louisiana. K Nate Snyder delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Meanwhile, Georgia State beat the Georgia Southern Eagles 21-14 last week. RB Tucker Gregg and CB Jamyest Williams were among the main playmakers for the Panthers as the former punched in two rushing touchdowns and the latter punched in one rushing touchdown. Georgia State's victory came on a 23-yard rush from Williams with only 0:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Ragin' Cajuns are the favorite in this one, with an expected 13.5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the team has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

Louisiana is now 7-1 while Georgia State sits at 4-4. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Louisiana is 197th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 11 on the season. Georgia State has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 232nd most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 15 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
