The first opportunity for high school prospects to lock up scholarships and formally sign National Letters of Intent began Wednesday during the early signing period. The feel of National Signing Day has changed a bit over the years because of the transfer portal, along with name, image and likeness rights, which meant most of the drama on Wednesday revolved around flipped commitments and last-minute pushes by programs competing for signatures.
In other words, the early signing period will shape the way the Class of 2024 will look across the country come February, particularly for some of the nation's top teams.
