Manager A.J. Hinch said he views Peacock as a candidate to continue as a starter down the stretch and into the postseason, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Two of the Astros' starters -- Lance McCullers (arm) and Collin McHugh (finger) -- are banged up, and while the injuries aren't thought to be overly serious, Houston may look to give them some extra rest down the stretch by operating out of a six-man rotation. Peacock, who is 7-2 with a 3.33 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 124:40 K:BB in 18 starts (94.2 innings) this season, is lined up for a spot start against the Angels on Thursday; if he pitches well, it sounds like he could stick in the rotation thereafter.
